Nigerian content creator Kuye Adegoke, popularly known as Egungun of Lagos, has come under heavy criticism on social media following the leak of a private video. In the clip, Egungun was seen brushing his teeth during a video call with an unidentified woman, dressed in shorts, and allegedly exposing himself during the conversation.
Egungun Of Lagos Casted Video Leak
Before the video surfaced, his wife, Pashotah, had publicly addressed an attempted blackmail involving her husband’s private videos. In an Instagram post, she defended her husband and their relationship, emphasizing the bond they’ve built over the years. She claimed the blackmailer had targeted her directly, intending to shame her rather than confront Egungun.
Pashotah stood firm, stating their marriage is built on trust, loyalty, and understanding, and declared that no attempt to tarnish their relationship would succeed. However, her defense sparked mixed reactions online, with some questioning Egungun’s family-oriented image and others praising her loyalty.
Many social media users shared their thoughts on the matter. Some criticized her decision to defend her husband despite the scandal, while others admired her steadfast support.
- A user identified as #Dr Penking wrote, “So Egungun’s wife watched that video and still had the temerity to come out and defend him? I thought Nigerian women now know their worth.”
- Another user, Peace Ighodaro, commented, “Egungun’s wife is the perfect definition of an understanding wife.”
- On Facebook, Billzcollecshun quipped, “Women supporting men in the mud, she must have left their association overnight.”
- Mercy Akuma added, “Egungun’s wife has every right to stick to her man no matter what. It’s her choice.”
Others debated whether her decision was driven by loyalty, societal expectations, or practical considerations.
- Mr. Afowose argued, “So she should leave him and go where? Another man that would still cheat and not love her like her husband? Women will choose a cheater who takes care of them over a broke man 50 times out of 50.”
- Chance Da Mayor tweeted, “You want her to leave her husband? Her place is with him. Forget the blackmailer issue; I respect her defense.”
Still, some users criticized the way she handled the situation.
- David Isemin remarked, “She would have just stayed silent on the matter. That would have been better damage control.”
- Jimmy01 speculated, “She knows she has a lot to lose if she comes out against him publicly. Behind the scenes, though, this must be hitting her hard. Her husband’s private video is everywhere—Hell no.”
As of now, Egungun of Lagos has not commented on the controversy, and his wife has not issued any additional statements. The public remains divided, with opinions ranging from condemnation to support, reflecting broader societal debates about loyalty, forgiveness, and personal boundaries in relationships.
